Savannah Guthrie makes chilling confession that mom Nancy may be dead

The family of Savannah Guthrie endures an agonizing wait as the search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, enters its fourth week. In an emotional update, the Today show anchor acknowledged the painful possibility that her 84-year-old mother may no longer be alive.

Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Catalina Foothills residence near Tucson on February 1. Surveillance footage shows a masked individual near the property around the time she disappeared, intensifying fears that foul play may be involved in this complex investigation.

On February 24, marking 24 days since her mother vanished, Savannah shared a heartfelt video message describing the emotional toll. “Every hour and minute and second and every long night has been agony,” she said, expressing both worry and aching for her missing mother.

She thanked millions who have offered prayers across all faiths, emphasizing how much that solidarity has meant. While still believing in the possibility of a miracle, Savannah also addressed the grim reality her family now confronts.

“We also know that she may be lost. She may already be gone,” she said, adding that if her mother has gone home to the Lord, they will accept it—but they desperately need to know where she is.

Authorities in Arizona have received over 18,000 tips within the first two weeks. The family is offering a reward of up to $1 million for credible information leading to her recovery, stressing that tipsters may remain anonymous.

“Someone out there knows something that can bring her home,” Savannah pleaded. As days pass under mounting emotional strain, the family’s message remains clear: whether the outcome brings relief or heartbreak, they need answers. Loved ones and viewers nationwide remain hopeful that clarity—and perhaps a miracle—will come soon.
