Peter Greene’s cause of death confirmed as accidental gunshot wound

Character actor Peter Greene, famed for roles in Pulp Fiction and The Mask, has died. The 58-year-old was discovered in his New York apartment on December 12th, with authorities initially deeming the death non-suspicious.

Early reports mentioned a note referencing a neighborhood group, fueling speculation. Neighbors had alerted police after hearing loud music playing from his apartment for nearly 24 hours prior to the discovery.

The New York Medical Examiner’s Office has now clarified the cause. Greene died from an accidental gunshot wound to his left axilla, which damaged his brachial artery—an injury medical experts say can be rapidly fatal.

His manager shared that Greene had been in positive spirits shortly before his death and was actively working on upcoming projects, including a recently released film and a documentary.
