Brooklyn Peltz Beckham has broken his silence regarding the ongoing rift with his famous parents, David and Victoria Beckham. In a candid Instagram statement, he made clear he has no intention of reconciling with his family anytime soon.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” the 26-year-old posted. “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.” He claimed his parents have controlled the family narrative in the press throughout his entire life.
Brooklyn also accused them of interfering in his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz Beckham, stating the tension began before their wedding and has persisted since. “The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was ‘not blood’ and ‘not family.'”
He described receiving endless attacks from his parents, both privately and publicly, allegedly sent to the press on their orders. “My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one.”
The distance has affected his relationships with siblings Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. However, Brooklyn revealed that stepping away has improved his mental health significantly.
“I grew up with overwhelming anxiety,” he wrote. “For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.” He described finding peace and relief in his new life.
Brooklyn concluded by rejecting a life shaped by image and manipulation. “All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.” The rift first surfaced around his 2022 wedding to Nicola and has deepened as he aligns more closely with her family in the U.S.
