Elon Musk has ignited controversy by alleging that former President Donald Trump is named in the Jeffrey Epstein files, intensifying a public dispute between the two former allies.
Their rift began when Musk criticized a new Congressional spending bill, blaming Trump for adding to the national debt. Trump fired back, claiming Musk was involved in crafting the legislation, a charge Musk denied while describing the process as hasty and secretive.
The conflict escalated sharply when Musk tweeted that Trump appears in the Epstein documents, suggesting a hidden connection to the disgraced financier. This implied a cover-up regarding their past associations.
While Trump and Epstein were known to socialize in the 1990s—often at Mar-a-Lago, with young women present—no confirmed wrongdoing by Trump has been established. Trump once referred to Epstein as a “terrific guy.”
Flight logs do show Trump traveled with Epstein on multiple occasions. Additionally, a former model accused Trump of groping her during a visit to Trump Tower in the early 1990s.
Despite these claims, the FBI has declined to comment, and the White House dismissed Musk’s statement as baseless. Officials have not engaged further with the allegation.
The fallout from Musk’s accusation remains uncertain, leaving both the political sphere and the public awaiting any further developments or responses.
