In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working members of the royal family. Queen Elizabeth allowed them to keep their HRH titles but prohibited public use since they no longer represented the monarchy.
Five years later, controversy has emerged over Meghan signing a private gift with “HRH.” The gift featured jam from her As Ever brand and was given to a friend, host Jamie Kern Lima.
Since the exchange occurred privately, some believe Meghan broke no official rules. However, the situation gained public attention when Lima displayed the gift and card on her podcast.
Royal insiders now claim Prince William is furious and wants to officially remove the HRH title from Meghan when he becomes king. One insider suggested William’s feelings toward the couple remain intensely negative.
Another source described King Charles as having “completely lost control” over the situation. The friend alleged Harry and Meghan intend to make Charles’s final years difficult.
The source added that Meghan’s HRH use exposes what they view as weakness in the current monarch. They predicted William would find a way to remove the titles upon ascending the throne.
The controversy continues generating discussion, with “The View” recently addressing whether Meghan should be permitted to use the HRH designation in any context.
